đźš˝ Kimberly-Clark Flushable Wipes Class Action Settlement
A $20 Million Class Action Settlement has been reached with Kimberly-Clark Corporation, a producer of home products. In this class action lawsuit, it was alleged that Kotex, Cottonelle, Huggies, Scott, and other brands of flushable wipes were not actually flushable and that the resulting flushing of these wipes into sewer and toilet systems resulted in damage to sewer systems. You are a class action member if you purchased a wipe that was marketed as “flushable” and sold under the brand names Cottonelle, Scott, Huggies Pull-ups, Poise, and Kotex. The purchase must have been made between February 21, 2008 and May 19, 2022 in the United States, not for purposes of resale. Claim forms must be completed online or received, not simply postmarked, by August 16, 2022.
If you qualify, and you have no proof, you will receive up to seventy cents ($0.70) up to $7.00 per Household. If you do have proof, you will receive up to one dollar and ten cents ($1.10) for each package, up to $50.60 per Household.
There is a $20 million cap on the total class action settlement amount. Therefore, based on the amount of valid claims submitted by the deadline of August 16 2022, the amount may be reduced (pro-rated) to have the $20,000,000 distributed evenly among class action settlement members.
“Proof of purchase” is the actual label or bar code of the package, or the original or photocopy or digital image of a sales receipt that includes the date, place of purchase, as well as the product name in the receipt.
